Within One Week I will....

Cousin Becky is hosting a W.O.W. (Within One Week) project this week. This will be my first time joining in. I decided my project would be staining and waterproofing my kids swing set. Your suppose to do this 1-2 times a year, however the last time I did this was back in 2005 when I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter Madelyn. That time the ladder twisted and collapsed from under me and down I went! I haven't used that ladder since! So hopefully this time, that won't happen! The tricky part will be keeping my kids off of it for 48 hours after I've got it applied!

Haylee the Birthday Girl

I was sitting here today thinking,"I cannot believe my little girl is going to be 5." It is so hard to believe how fast time flies by! It seems like yesterday I woke up in the hospital and there she was laying next to me. Her due date was suppose to be May 16, but because she was a foot long breech, we got to enjoy her presence earlier! She had decided she was ready to join us earlier anyway. Once I was on the table and checked, the Dr said it was a good thing I had decided on the 30th instead of May 3, because I would have probably gone into labor on the 30th anyway, which was not good for a foot long breech and living 1 hour and 20 minutes from the hospital! Can you imagine Danny trying to deliver a breech baby in the backseat of a car?!!

Reminiscing on my babes brings tears to my eyes; they're growing up.

Our First Major Injury

Yesterday was the first major injury in our household of four kiddos. Hayden, who ran from the day he started walking, was the victim. We always figured he'd be the first! The injury you ask, well it is a broken collarbone! He was playing frisbee with a few friends at recess at school yesterday. He went after the frisbee and his friend (who will remain anonymous) tried to get to the frisbee before Hayden did and in the process pushed Hayden down in the attempt to reach it first! After the call from the school nurse, my grandma (because I was car less at the time due to it being worked on) took me to pick him up to take him to the emergency room. After a couple x-rays, it was an obvious break. I wish I had a copy of the x-ray to show all of you. Picture a draw bridge that one side got shifted over the top of the other half or a cheap homemade bike jump. That was his clavicle! As you'll notice after some pain meds, he is all smiles.

This is today! This is a very strong kid here! Hardly any pain relievers! He is tough! He is a little limited on his attire right now since he can only wear button up shirts and elastic waist shorts and pants. I do believe he is doing much better now, considering he is drop kicking his beanie cats across the house! I would like to thank Karla, who was awesome with Hayden at the hospital, Wanda, Amy and Dana for all of your help yesterday. Thank you so much!

Haylee and School

Today Haylee had her school pictures taken. Mine of course are after school. The red drink on her face and on her sleeves and the disheveled hair was not included at the beginning of the day! We were a bit late this morning. After leaving, Dan calls and says "did you need this envelope that says Haylee Andrews on it?" As I mumble d*%@!* under my breath, yes I did, it's Haylee's picture form and money! So of course, I have to turn around, I couldn't have my little girl go without her school pictures.

Notice the converse sneakers instead of dress shoes!LOL

Yesterday was Wacky Wednesday at preschool. This is the ensemble that we came up with. I know on any normal given day, I would not let my child leave the house looking like this!

I have to add that her pants however did match one of her boots! It is fun to watch kids dress up silly!

Easter

We had a very fun Easter weekend. We got to see and visit with lots of family. On Saturday, Granny and Pa had an Easter celebration for all of the family. There were lots of things for the kids to do and lots of food.

There were Easter egg hunts.

Haylee set her eye on an egg by the tree and went running for it going head first into the tree trunk!! She perked up quickly and continued looking for eggs!

There were three pinatas and golf ball tossing. This wasn't even all of the kids that were there!

Later Saturday afternoon we went to Nana's to visit with more family. We wished they could have stayed longer. The kids had a lot of fun playing together.







Sunday after church, which was an awesome service, we went to my parent to say Happy Easter and pick up a rototiller we were going to borrow for our garden. Hayden is always enthralled with the gator!

We also went to Nana's for Easter dinner. (Thank you Nana and Aunt Karen for such a great dinner.) The kids did some more Easter egg hunting!

The boys rode home with Pappy and he showed them a few tips for playing golf and played a little baseball with them too!

Spring Break 2009

We had a last minute change in plans for spring break. We were suppose to go to the beach. I had everything packed and ready to go. My parents said it was raining there and it was suppose to for the rest of the week minus one day. Dan called and said if we had to spend the week couped up in the motorhome because it was raining, then why don't we go to Disneyland! I thought he was joking, but he was serious! So I unpacked everything and repacked again for southern California! Yes, we drove, I mean I drove! First day I drove 990 miles and had to stop beacuse my eyes starting crossing and playing tricks on me, but at least we only had 3 hours to drive the next morning!

Our last day there was the hottest day. It was so nice to be in warm weather.

This bugs life 3-d event was fun. Dan and I had been in it before, so we knew what to expect. It was so funny watching the kids! At one point, Haylee and Hayden flew out of their seats! That's all I can say about that, don't want to spoil it for everyone else!

Okay this pic is a sample of what Maddie was like pretty much the whole trip! She loved the rides and was happy and smiley, but off the rides, this is what you got! She hit, kicked, pinched, pushed, shoved and you name it, she did it!! I would have to say that under age four is probably not a good idea!

Toontown...it was always hard to find a spot to sit down and eat beacuse everything was full. So, we took advantage of this nice toontown trolley.
I am mad at myself because I had a video of Maddie dancing in the street with the parade cast and it has somehow disappeared! It would have been a great one for her to look back on someday. The cast came over and took her out into the street to dance with them. She loved that! Haylee didn't want to go! There's definately an advantage to being in the front of the sidelines for the parade!

Hayden just had to meet Tigger! It was the first thing we did. The boys didn't much like having to wait in line for the girls to meet the princesses which took almost 2 hours! A piece of advice do that first of the day!! When we met Minnie Mouse, Maddie poked her in the eye! Then when we told her she couldn't do that, she threw a fit and pouted! The kids sure met a lot of characters!


All in all, we had a great time! I was so glad we were able to do this with our kids. This age is so great too because they think everything is so real which makes it ten times better to enjoy! Now they can't wait to go again, this time with Mimi and Pappy. I also have to mention, that our son Ethan is very brave. He went on the Screamin California roller coaster with me! He loved it! I'll have to see if I can scan the picture so you all can see his face during the ride. It is quite hilarious!
