The boys had their end of the Fall season soccer party last night. All of those boys together is so cute! They are such good friends! Lars didn't make it, but the boys had a great time! Good job Ethan, Hayden, Alek, William and Lars! You guys did great this season.

Yesterday was such a nice day, I decided I'd put the patio furniture away before it rained again. The kids finally cleaned out their play kitchen stuff on their swing set. It was full of nasty cucumbers and tomatoes that they had squished all over the place and had gotten rotten! It was not a pretty site!! Ewww was all I could muster up! The kids went out to play and decided to pick all of their pumpkins and haul them to the front. They set up a nice pumpkin arrangement on/around the front porch. They all looked so good in their matching shirts, which was not for the purpose of the photo. It was Prosser Mustang pride day at school for Homecoming. Go Mustangs!! (sorry greyhounds).

W.O.W. Project Complete!
Yay! My project is complete. I really didn't think it would happen after having sick kids this week. So here it is. It took quite a bit of work getting this board sanded down. Our sander was not wanting to cooperate with me. I sanded all sides and rounded all of the corners. Ethan was a big help during the sanding part. He was trying his best to hold the board for me while I sanded it outside in 45 degree weather. Not exactly sure what the wind chill was out there, but all I know is that it was very cold and windy. So way to go Ethan! Thanks for the help little man! :) Next time something like this will have to be a warm weather project! I did however forget to take a picture of the maple board before I started staining it, so here it is mid-stain. I also didn't even think about wearing a glove on my brush hand, so my hand felt a little weird for awhile!
So, this is what that homely giraffe was for! It measures your kiddos height! I wanted to mount it to a nice sanded and stained board so that we would be able to have the kids growing chart to always keep with us. So if we ever move, we can take it with us or if we ever decide to repaint, it will not be painted over. Dana reminded me of the painting over it part. I hadn't thought of that, I just knew I wanted to take their chart with us if we ever moved!

Our sweet, but mischievous little model, who goes by the name Maddie is demonstrating the giraffe for us with her oh so wonderful father! :)

All you have to do is pull down the giraffes butt until it reaches the top of your kids head and then mark it. It works pretty well, but it was missing a plate or something to attach to the wall, so we may have to find another way to keep it mounted onto the board. The kids were so excited to have their heights measured and recorded on the board! Right now it is just in pencil. When I find our etcher, I am going to burn their first height recording into the wood!

All About Madelyn
W.O.W.
Yay! It's time again for another one of cousin Becky's W.O.W.s (Within One Week). I love these things. If you are interested in joining please visit her blog and sign up at http://www.everydaybecky.blogspot.com/ .
This week I have decided my project would be this pretty homely looking yellow giraffe. My dad bought it for us almost a year ago and it has been looking at the bottom drawer of my dryer since. It really does have a great and exciting purpose, which I can't wait to show you all what it is this time next week! Happy W.O.W.-ing to you all!!
