Sophie

This post may seem a little lame or "hick", but I felt the need for this post. This post is about our cat Sophie. She was so much a part of our family. She was like the fifth child in the house. She got real sick a couple days ago and did not make it. She died last night. You wouldn't think an animal would mean so much, but she did. I am very sad right now and she will be greatly missed.
This was when she was little.

She took to the kids right away. She was definately a people, and especially a kid cat.

This was this past Valentines Day. She found the roses before I did and loved smelling them, she couldn't keep her head out of them (she did not eat them!). She always had her nose into everything!
This was just this past month. She had such a sweet face! I loved those big ears and big nose!
Sophie had become real close with Maddie. The two of them could not leave each other alone!

This was at Christmas. She was right in there with the rest of the kids.

This was the Christmas before. She loved wrapping paper. She was the friendliest cat ever. Everyone wanted to take her home with them. I had a couple offers if I ever needed to find her a home. There was no way I was giving her up!

Home From School

I picked the boys up from the bus today and when Hayden stepped off, this is what I saw!
He got them from his friend Brenna on the bus who lives down the road. He is such a funny kid!

Painting

Last weekend, Dan and I painted our bedroom and parent retreat. We decided to move our bedroom into the parent retreat because it was smaller and a better fit. We are now using the room our bedroom was in for the sew/scrapbooking/game/weight room because there was more room to utilize for those activities. We also realized after the fact that the treadmill does not fit through the door! The now bedroom is painted in a light green. This pic makes the ceiling look a bit spotty, but ignore that!

The old bedroom is now painted a tan color. This room has not yet had stuff put away and our living room is still full of stuff too!

The new bedroom and sophie.

Bedroom, still got to clean up here too!

I'm still waiting to get another table for that corner so it will be like an L. The sewing cabinet I had does not work well anymore. One of the kids hung and swung on the leaf and sprung the hinges.

Well, that's that. Now all we have left to paint is our bathroom!

"Redneck Doghouse" for Sale!

FOR SALE OR LEASE: Doghouse; includes blanket, window view looking in and one beer! (Sorry, man not included).

This past Weekend, Dan helped me paint our parent retreat and our bedroom. We moved our bedroom into the retreat (which is smaller) and made our master bedroom into the scrapbooking/sew/game/exercise room because there was more room to utilize for those activities. We moved this couch out of the retreat because we would not need it anymore. Well, as I was looking outside I commented to Dan that the couch in our front yard looked very bad, that we could almost be described as rednecks! He said that would make a great doghouse! Therefore the pics!!

I forgot to mention that Hayden came up to me and asked if the couch on our lawn could be the time out chair for when they get into trouble! He said "that's really cool mom, how about we use that when we get in trouble?" Today after I picked them boys up from the bus, Hayden jumped out of the car and went racing for the "lawn furniture" yelling "I want to sit on it, I want to sit on it!" He is the funniest kid, who can make you laugh at just about anything!

Father Daughter Dance

Danny took Haylee and Maddie to a father daughter dance on Friday. We weren't sure whether Haylee would be able to go because her neck had been bothering her and she couldn't move her head. She was upset at the thought of not being able to go that she perked up and tried her best to not look like it hurt. She had been looking forward to this night so she went despite her neck. The two dresses above were her choices. I was in favor of the black and white one, but Haylee loved the green, so then her decision was made. Green!
I thought she looked beautiful in her green dress.

Maddie loved her dress! At first I wasn't too fond of the big bright pink bow and wanted to change it to a white or black bow. I thought it resembled a barbie dress! Emily, Katy and Mia thought the pink bow was cute. After seeing the dress on Maddie, I thought it looked just perfect on her!! I'm so glad I left the pink bow on. She looked so cute!

We arrived at Katy's a little late so Gracie, Avery and Sage had already left. I was hoping we'd be there early enough to get a picture of all the girls together in their cute dresses, but we were about an hour too late. We got to see them all dressed up when they got home and they were all so adorable!

Daddy and his girls.
I was hoping Haylee would be able to have some fun. You can tell in the picture that her neck is bothering her, she couldn't lift her head much. I asked Dan to take her out just the two of them when her neck is feeling better. I think she will really enjoy that. I have to add that I had a lot of fun getting to visit with Katy, Emily and Mia while the dads were at the dance with their girls. I need to do that more myself!

Dan said Maddie loved the dance! She was tearing up the dance floor and didn't want to stop! He said she kept going into the middle of the crowds dancing off her feet! I am so glad that Dan was able to do something like this with his girls. It is something special that they will always remember and look forward to doing with him each year.
